Carol Lombard (aka 'Carole') (1908-1942) Although remembered mainly for her comic roles, Carol (or 'Carole') was an extremely talented and versatile actress. She had a zest for life and a great sense of humor. Sadly, Carol was lost to the world of entertainment when her plane crashed into a mountain while returning from helping in a war bond drive. She died with 20 others, including her mother. Carol married William Powell in 1931. It was a not a good match and they divorced in 1933. She married Clark Gable in 1939 and it was a happy marriage until her death. Gable was very distraught for many years and some say he never really recovered from losing her.

Boldly signed with "To George" using the 'Carol' version of her first name. Another of the stars who put their autograph in 'George's' 1935 album, many of which are offered in this website. Carol's autograph was on the page following Gable's in George's album. (see item 62) Price: $500
