46. Raymond Griffith

Raymond Griffith

(1890-1957)

Ray was a very active and popular star of the silent movies, but his vocal chords were badly damaged when he was a child and he literally had no voice - and hence no career in talkies.

His major claim to acting fame was an outstanding, although uncredited, performance as a dying French soldier in "All Quiet on the Western Front"(1930).

This vintage 5" x 6 3/4" has some corner residue, but is overall in very good condition.

The signature, with "Sincerely" is in blue/green ink and has good contrast.

Price: $ 50
