Estelle Taylor

(1899-1958)

Estelle was an exotically beautiful brunette with unlimited energy and a smart business mind. She married into wealth at age 14 and at age 18, when her modelling career took off, she divorced her husband.

In addition to modelling, she also worked as a Broadway chorus dancer which, among the many admirers, were some producers who were in a position to help her when she decided to embark on a movie career in 1920.

Estelle quickly moved up, appearing in many excellent films, including "The Ten Commandments" (1923), "Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall" (1925 and "Don Juan" (1926), during the 1920-1932 period and starred in about 25 of them.

Estelle retired after making her last film (except for a 1945 feature) in 1932.

She was married to world heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey from 1926 to 1931.

Estelle is another of the stars who put their autograph in 'George's' 1935 album, many of which are offered in this website.
