108. Florence Vidor

Florence Vidor

(1895-1977)

Florence married King Vidor in 1915 and both moved to Hollywood to pursue movie careers.  Florence's first film credit was in 1917 and (except for a 1962 role as herself) made her last film "Chinatown Nights" in 1929.

Florence's career ended with the advent of talkies; not because she had a poor voice, but because the recording equipment was inadequate to satisfactorily record it.

She divorced King Vidor in 1923 (who went on to success with his own studio). She married Jascha Heifitz the great violinist sometime in the late 1920s.

This ca1926 (based on content) letter is typed on Florence's own letterhead stationary.

It is 6.5" x 8.25" and in fine condition (one horizontal fold) with Florence's signature in blue ink.

Price: $ 75
